Coaching in a Climate of Generational Conflict

About The Luncheon: Coaching in a Climate of Generational Conflict  | Friday, March 13, 2020 | Nashville

We are living in an unprecedented environment of generational diversity. Our workplaces now include multiple generations, from Baby Boomers to Millenials, each with their own experiences and expectations. As coaches, we are often called upon to coach clients much older and much younger than we are, and an understanding of these varied expectations helps us select strategies that support all generations and help our clients negotiate generational conflict they may be experiencing in their roles as leaders.

This session will provide an overview of the three generations most engaged in the workforce. We will investigate the expectations of Boomers and GenXers, and how these expectations often collide with the goals and expectations of younger employees. Participants will learn what Millennials are looking for and what motivates them, and how they can get “stuck” in the system. Strategies  to "unstick" them through positive mentoring and coaching will be shared.
