ABOUT THE CHAPTER MEETING: Navigating Change with Coaching: An Exploration of Mindsets & Models

There is no better time to leverage the transformations that are taking place in our organizations, our communities, and our country than to embrace the art and science of change and coaching principles. Taking a long view, this chapter meeting presentation will serve as a catalyst to provide an overview for navigating change as well as discussing stakeholder/client mindsets as one begins to work with a coach and/or change practitioner. A case study will be shared and used to illustrate these concepts.  Specific actions will be written by participants to immediately employ the work discussed emphasizing the competencies of active listening and direct communication.

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of a tried and true framework for navigating change

  • Discuss the mindsets of change as a coach/change practitioner prepares for this work: aligning awareness and goals

  • Share real-world case study to identify mindset issues and solicit coach/practitioner call to action

Benefits to the audience:

1. Emphasizing five (5) ICF coaching competencies

2. Providing tools and takeaways to illustrate and assist with learning the frameworks, elements, and applications discussed

3. Advocating for language that coaching and change practitioners can use that will be somewhat similar and complimentary to one another.
