Are you interested in integrating positive psychology into your coaching practice to help your clients? If yes, then you won’t want to miss the September ICFTN luncheon program!

Professional coaching is experiencing a needed mind shift from static views of talent as a fixed commodity, to a dynamic view of talent that can be developed.  The backbone for that mind shift is recent research in positive psychology, augmented by neurobiology and trends toward democratized learning (in technology and analytics and access to information).

The theoretical construct of PERMA, developed by Seligman, in Flourishing (2012), describes research in positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning and accomplishment.    That research has immense value for professional coaches, as a bridge between theory and application.

Our speaker, Doug Gray, PCC, has done extensive research on this topic and will discuss how to apply positive psychology research to your coaching practice.

About Doug Gray:

Doug Gray, PCC, is founder and CEO of Action Learning Associates, and a leadership consultant and executive coach. An active member of ICF since 1997, he is an author and accomplished speaker on organizational leadership. He co-developed the Leadership Development Institute at the University of Maryland and taught there for 7 years, and he is a former adjunct faculty member at several colleges including NC State University.  A perpetual learner, he is currently studying at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology towards a PhD in Organizational Leadership. His dissertation topic is the effect of positive psychology on business leaders using executive coaching.
