Spotlight: Angela Ellis

1 - Where are you from, and how did you choose to live in Middle Tennessee?
I’m from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and came to Middle Tennessee 20 years ago for a career with General Motors.
2 - What is your professional background, and why did you become a coach?
My career started in Human Resources. I’ve been a Recruiter, HR manager, and trainer. As I explored learning and development I discovered clients needed one-on-one attention for their leaders and emerging leaders. I began coaching because of employer demand.
3 - How did you choose your specialty area?
I offer leadership and career coaching because these are areas where I’ve seen people make the greatest strides in their personal and professional development.
4 - What are the greatest challenges and greatest rewards of your career?
The greatest challenge has been sustaining my business through a recession – twice! The greatest reward has been having clients introduce me to their families and tell them that I had a huge impact on their lives.
5 - What is something that most ICFTN members would be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a certified Zumba instructor.
6 - How do you enjoy spending your free time?
I enjoy hiking, biking, karaoke and reading.
