What is the name of your company?

 Big Self School

Are you an independent coach or a coach within an organization?

 We are a husband and wife team. We coach, consult, and train independently. 

What made you decide to be a coach?

It became an interest and then a calling. By that, I mean it came from years of personal growth and self-awareness, understanding better who I am and what gifts I have to offer in combination with meeting "what the world needs." People are in need of good coaching. Our culture is suffering from individualism that leads to isolation and a sense of self-worth that comes from having to be productive all the time, all of which leads to chronic stress and burnout. At first I engaged with this as a personal learner, a researcher, podcaster, and writer. Over time I began to see how I could put my skills as a professor and former minister together and become a coach.

What is your area of interest?

Transformational coaching. Anything new that is research-backed that helps us learn about ourselves. We specialize in using the Enneagram for deep psychological (and potentially spiritual) work for personal growth. We also use Learning Circle Profile 360s as a tool to enhance self-awareness for leaders and teams.
