2026 Director of Credentialing: Renee Fluty, MBA, PCC

Renee Fluty, MBA, PCC
ICFTN Director of Credentialing
As ICFTN’s new Director of Credentialing, I want to introduce myself to our membership. I was so excited when I was invited to fill this position on the Board of Directors. It is a privilege to be part of the leadership of ICFTN.
I come from a mental health background and was licensed in the first state to have the Licensed Professional Counselor credential (Virginia). In 2004, I discovered coaching. For most of my mental health career, I worked as a therapist four days a week and as a coach on Fridays. When I retired from mental health, I immediately dove into upgrading my training and earned the ACC in 2020 and the PCC in 2022.
Credentialing is a passion for me. It is what sets us apart as highly trained professionals who self-regulate and who have met standards of training and practice. Clients who hire a credentialed coach, or a coach working toward credentialing, know what they are getting.
I am here to help members of ICFTN navigate the credentialing journey, whether you are a “newbie” in the beginning of training or a seasoned coach who has decided to pursue your next professional step whether it is the ACC, PCC, or MCC credential. So,

What do I want to accomplish this year? I want to be a support to those seeking credentialing. I want to help you plan your credential journey, to help you find resources, to understand your best path toward the credential you seek, and to support you at every step on the way.

What will success look like? Non-credentialed ICFTN coaches will be confident that they can successfully pursue credentialing. They will navigate the path using resources that they find through ICFTN. They will know that ICFTN “has their back.” Credentialed coaches will explore and pursue the next level if that is right for them.
-
Why is this important? I believe that pursuing ICF credentials is a gift we give our clients and ourselves. It is saying that we have put ourselves out there to be evaluated and we met the mark. Clients can trust that we are committed to excellence in coaching.
I’ve already begun setting up meetings with coaches who are exploring becoming credentialed as well as coaches who are well into the process.
