Erin Ferree

What is the name of your company?

 Watermark Coaching LLC

Are you an independent coach or a coach within an organization?

Both! I started Watermark Coaching LLC in order to serve both individual clients and organizations after extensive experience coaching and advising in higher education. With a team of leadership and career coaches, I'm also involved in starting up the new nonprofit National Security Career & Leadership Institute (NSCLI), a 501(c)3 with a mission to inspire and prepare the next generation of foreign affairs, intelligence and security professionals for impactful careers in the public or private sector.

What made you decide to be a coach?

I began my career in US government recruiting and HR policy but transitioned to higher education in hopes of having more impact on the lives of individual job seekers and emerging leaders. Solid ICF-approved training improved my skill and my confidence to continue growing as a coach and leader. Coaching allows me to use my strengths while doing meaningful work with diverse clients and across a variety of career considerations.

What is your area of interest?

My areas of passion and expertise include international jobs, government service, think tanks and other nonprofit, NGO and policy careers. However, I love coaching emerging leaders and professionals across a variety of industry interests - from creative fields (communications, PR, marketing, fashion) to professional services and consulting. I'm also interested in doing more coaching and group facilitation at the intersection of faith and work.

Is there anything you would like us to know about you?

I grew up in Middle TN and am happy to settle back home after a long and wonderful experience in greater Washington DC. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors with my husband, two kids and Labrador retriever.
