New Member Spotlight: Lauren Collier

What is the name of your company?
LKC, LLC
What type of coaching do you do?
Purposeful Change: I was recently introduced to the concept liminal space coaching, referring to the in-between spaces of our lives when we are preparing for a new phase. When clients are in the space of heightened awareness and motivation, I love serving as a guide and strengths-based strategist to shape what comes next and empower them to move forward with confidence.
What made you decide to be a coach?
I created a Higher Education Leadership and Innovation program for aspiring university presidents--the Fellows resoundingly pointed to coaching as the most transformative element of the program. Personally, I recognized coaching as an opportunity to bring forward my heart and the value of service that lead me to education and social work to begin with.
Is there anything you would like us to know about you?
I'm developing a big idea: The Friendship Project. The mission is to elevate women through meaningful connection by scaffolding supportive, sustainable constellations of friends. Making new friends as an adult is hard: it’s hard to find your people, it’s hard to move past the surface, and it’s hard to find the time to invest the time that it takes to develop real connections. I'm using social science research to build an in-person first framework to bring together groups of women, create fun events to generate the energy and insight to accelerate connection, and offer resources to support sustainable constellations of friends. As we experiment, I would love for coaches to spread the word among friends and clients to help us reach women. We want to learn, "I would love to meet other women who...." to identify deep age/stage identities who are struggling to find their people.
