December 2022 President's Letter
President's Letter
DECEMBER 2022

In 2022, ICF Tennessee Charter Chapter proudly honored our founder Pat White, MCC and her forward-thinking idea that Tennessee coaches need a community where they can network, learn, and support each other. Inspired by Thomas Leonard, long considered the founder of professional coaching, Pat organized the chapter and commenced a long history of supporting coaches in Tennessee. During a recent interview with Pat, she championed the work of 5 coaches who shared her vision to make things happen. In case you missed the interview, here’s the link.
While we take the time to celebrate our history and accomplishments, it is fitting that we also set forth a thoughtful plan to continue our growth and improvement into 2023 and the future. In the coming weeks, the 2022 and 2023 Board of Directors will meet to establish our goals and strategies to do just that - continue our growth and improvement.
We will remain focused on our fundamental tenet that: "ICFTN is committed to developing coaches and advancing the coaching industry.” This is accomplished by supporting the professional development of our member community, educating the public about the coaching profession, and upholding the ethics of the International Coach Federation. Our Chapter aims to forge the path to a world of new possibilities for every coach, regardless of age, gender, faith traditions, race, ethnicity, identity, physical ability, training and credential status, or anything else that makes the coach the unique individual that they are. We celebrate our amazing, diverse membership community.
Please join me on December 9 at 12:30 ET / 11:30 CT for our Holiday Chapter meeting. It’s our gift to Chapter members and I hope you can come. The event is free but does require registration. Here’s the link to register.
This year’s meeting is titled “Joy Reboot” featuring Jennice Chewlin. Jennice will guide us through an engaging virtual experience to help reboot our joy so we feel sustained and recharged as we enter the holiday season and begin the new year.
With gratitude,
Brenda Baird, MCC
2022-23 ICFN President
