MAY 2022

THE FUTURE OF COACHING IS REIMAGINED
Each year the month of May brings International Coaching Week (ICW). A weeklong global celebration of the power and impact of professional coaching. This year’s theme is Reimagine the Future and ICF Global is challenging each of us to understand, explore, test and discover the possibilities coaching provides.
Over the past few years, professional coaches of all niches have felt the increased demand for powerful coaching as we helped clients and organizations grapple with transformed customer buying journeys, remote operations, and a volatile economic environment. Add the pandemic-driven acceleration of digital transformation, and it’s clear that coaches need to prepare for the new opportunities ahead.
Now that our worlds are finding some stability in this new normal, ICFTN is in the perfect position to reimagine its future and how the Chapter can support coaches across Tennessee to reimagine their own coaching business.
The Chapter has done a marvelous job of adapting to changes in delivering content and resources to our member coaches. Chapter leaders have taken a stand to implement a culture within ICFTN where everyone belongs, diversity is valued, and represented.
But as a Chapter, the question that lies before us is – what do we do now?
It all comes back to how we embrace these changes and learn to evolve our chapter. To reimagine what our Chapter will look like in the future and what bold moves we need to take today to get there. The opportunity for a reset doesn’t come often. Yet the pandemic has opened the door to dramatic change. As the Board of Directors commits to a proper strategic reset, we will rely on our ability as a Chapter to reflect and remain flexible to turn the turbulence of these times into an advantage. Reimagining begins by revisiting the Chapter’s purpose so that when stated clearly and succinctly, our purpose reminds Chapter members of what they can expect from ICFTN.
Part of any great reimagining starts with listening. I hope you will join members of the board and me as we journey across the state to listen to members and non-member coaches about what value ICFTN can bring to them and their businesses. In the days ahead, you will receive more information about the date and times of our Listening Tour to Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville. Be on the lookout for surveys, new ways to stay connected with Chapter, and requests to volunteer as we take the next steps to evolve and prepare coaches for a future in a fast-paced, ever-changing landscape.
I hope to see you soon!
