New Member Spotlight: Rachel Sherriea Anderson

What is the name of your company?
I work at ALSAC / St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
What type of coaching do you do?
I am an internal coach for my organization where I have 1-1 coaching sessions as well as group coaching sessions that are tailored to the needs of our organization.
What made you decide to be a coach?
I decided to become a coach as I was looking for a career shift to do something a bit different from my 14+ years of experience as an Instructional Designer. I have always loved supporting the growth and development of others and coaching seemed like a great way to give a personalized approach to supporting clients in reaching their professional development goals. Our organization was in the right place culturally to begin offering such development opportunities, and I was delighted to be offered the opportunity to be a key part of it!
Is there anything you would like us to know about you?
While I’m new to coaching, I’m very familiar with the talent development space. I earned my CPTD from the Association for Talent Development as well as have an educational background of a MPS in Training and Development and a BA in Psychology and BPS in Human Services.

I’m a huge psychology and book nerd so I’ve recently started a Substack where I write book reviews, discuss my coaching/talent development journey, and share recommendations/insights to help others in their professional development. Feel free to subscribe here or at rachelsherriea.com as well as connect with me on LinkedIn as I would love to increase my network to include more ICF certified coaches especially if you are an internal coach. Perhaps we can swap notes and best practices!
