What is the name of your company?

Sarah Oelschig Coaching

Are you an independent coach or a coach within an organization?

Independent

What made you decide to be a coach?

In my professional life, I’d always turned toward helping people at work - creating training programs, doing personality assessments with my team, discussing career paths, and advocating for my colleagues when performance review time came around. I liked it, but I still wasn’t happy with my work. In 2011, I earned an MA in Counseling Psychology with the plan to become a therapist, but life got in the way and I continued working up the corporate ladder. By 2021, I was burned out. I felt like I needed to do something else and I started working with a career coach.

It suddenly clicked that what I really wanted to do is work with people and help them through the difficult times of change that come up, whether the change happens to them or is created by them. I wanted to give back all that I have learned in my professional and personal life. I thrive on making a connection with others and seeing them learn and grow. Coaching offers me the opportunity to help others in those specific areas where I think I can lend the most support - professionally and personally.

What is your area of interest?

Helping individuals gain clarity on what they want their life/work to look like, combat their inner critic, explore what's missing, and gain confidence to create the next chapter of their story.

Is there anything you would like us to know about you?

I grew up in Northern California and moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee with my husband and two daughters in 2019. I will be finishing up my Coaching for Life and Work Certificate from UC Davis in June.
