What type of coaching do you do?
-
I am a leadership development coach at the University of Tennessee, where I primarily work with undergraduate and graduate students. A lot of my work centers around developing self-awareness and leadership identity – helping students explore how they show up, how they communicate and relate to others, and how they are already practicing leadership, regardless of whether thy hold a formal leadership position.
-
Through my private practice, OmniInterview, I work primarily with international professionals navigating high-stakes interviews, career transitions, and professional life in the United States. Much of that work sits at the intersection of communication, identity, and professional development.
What made you decide to be a coach?
-
I came to coaching somewhat indirectly. Before becoming an ICF Coach, I was living in Bogota, Colombia where I developed and led language training programs for corporate clients. Much of my work was one-on-one with adult learners, and I realized that what interested me most wasn’t simply teaching the nuts and bolts of language. I loved helping adult learners and university students develop what I came to think of as their “language identity” – the confidence and self-awareness to communicate as themselves in another language.
-
Looking back, that work was already pointing me toward coaching. Today, I see a similar thread in my leadership coaching: helping people better understand who they are, how they show up, and how they want to engage with the world around them.
Is there anything you would like us to know about you?:
-
Although I grew up and studied in Tennessee, I’m newly back after spending the last 12 years living in Bogota, Colombia, and I’d love to connect with other ICF coaches across the state. During my time in Colombia, I worked with universities and corporate clients and eventually started two online businesses – OmniInterview and Hands of Colombia.
-
I’m still very much connected to Colombia, so I oftentimes think of myself as having one foot in Tennessee and one foot in Bogota. I’m excited to build a new professional community here and to become more involved with ICF Tennessee!
