1 - Where are you from, and how did you choose to live in Middle Tennessee?

I am a 5th generation East Tennessean, but left after high school living all over the Southeastern US and three years in Europe with my military husband. I returned to East TN after a divorce seeking the comfort of family and familiar territory.

2 - What is your professional background, and why did you become a coach?

I worked in the accounting world of the Department of Energy arena of Oak Ridge, TN. You could say I moved from accounting to accountability via coaching. Although, I tell clients, the purpose of coaching is to aid their accountability to themselves.

3 - How did you choose your specialty area?

I’ve worked in both life coaching and performance coaching (for those wanting to increase their productivity). Life coaching is my favored area because it gives a solid foundation to build on. Performance coaching is what young professionals-who became my niche-strongly seek.

4 - What are the greatest challenges and greatest rewards of your career?

When a client taps their passion, their energy is contagious. It keeps me young and energized! I love hanging out with young professionals.

5 - What is something that most ICFTN members would be surprised to learn about you?

That even though I am a small female, I think, act and respond analytically and sometimes aggressively. I was the first child so my dad treated me as a son - right down to blue jeans, flannel shirts, as well as taking me hunting and fishing.

6 - How do you enjoy spending your free time?

I love hiking our beautiful East TN trails enjoying the mountains and streams. Nature produces an organic atmosphere diluting the stress in the body and biologically recharging us physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Nothing better than a day on the trail in East TN!
