Serve Those Who Served Us

The transition from a military career to the private sector is a major shift for most military veterans. It can be especially challenging for those who served in the US Special Operations Forces. The Honor Foundation supports that transition. ICFTN is partnering with the Honor Program to provide pro-bono coaching for those in the upcoming cohort of The Honor Foundation. I hope you will join me in volunteering to serve as a coach. The next cohort starts in August, and they are currently accepting applications for coaches.

About The Honor Foundation

The Honor Foundation (THF) is a career transition program for U.S. Special Operations Forces that effectively translates their elite military service to the private sector and helps create the next generation of corporate and community leaders. THF provides a clear process for professional development and a diverse ecosystem of world class support and technology. The Emergent Coach Training Program

The Emergent Coach Training program offers full end to end, ICF-Accredited Level 1 & 2 coach training. They also have many individual professional development modules to upgrade your learning and gain CCEU’s. The program integrates ICF competencies with insights from cognitive science, systems thinking, somatics, mindfulness, positive psychology and more. If you attended the 2024 conference you’ll have heard founder Rod Francis discussing some of the theory and practices of this approach.

They also offer group ICF Mentor Coaching at very reasonable cost and their next program begins in January 2025.

The Emergent Coach Training program offers complete ICF-Accredited Level 1 & 2 training as well as individual professional development modules and ICF Mentor Coaching.

The next individual program is Focusing-Oriented Coaching which begins on May 7th and earn 26 ICF Core Competency hours. Developed by Prof. Eugene Gendlin out of a vast outcomes study that aimed to uncover any specific traits exhibited by clients who actually changed through facilitated conversations. The one key trait that did led to the development of Focusing. Long employed within therapy, our program is a world-first to integrate and teach it specifically for coaches. You can learn more here.

Reconnect with nature and yourself!

The Empowerment retreat is a 5-day immersive program running from September 1-5 2023 at Elohee in North Georgie, USA offering participants an extraordinary opportunity to develop, grow and more fully embody their true capacities as coaches and as humans. To reconnect with and radically deepen their abilities for deep listening, powerful conversations and living aligned with their deepest sense of purpose, while learning new skills and ways of being to take to their lives and their client facing work.

Much of the retreat is dedicated to reconnecting with and exploring one's self in the land, and participants are also given plenty of time to engage in their own process of introspection, integration and change and also offered appropriate support. Ample time is made to help embody the learning and growth and explore how to powerfully use these in client-facing work. Alongside all the work, we also have plenty of space for fun, play, relaxation and reconnection. Each evening there’s community time around the beautiful fire with story, song and plenty of laughter. 

The program will be led by Rod Francis & the Emergent Coach Training faculty. The Empowerment Retreat is part of the Emergent Coach Training program and can earn participants up to 32 ICF Core Competency units (Certificate of Partial Completion).

The Empowerment retreat is a 5-day immersive and experiential program running from September 1-5, 2023. It’s designed to help participants embody their capacities as coaches, to reconnect with and radically deepen their abilities for deep listening, powerful conversations and living aligned with their deepest sense of purpose, and to learn new skills and ways of being to take to their client facing work based on a rites of passage coaching model. The retreat offers a unique opportunity to radically deepen one’s learning and development in community and in an extraordinary wilderness setting.

Alongside the many activities, participants are facilitated into direct wild world encounters in deeply powerful, surprising and transformative ways. The experiential group and individual activities and skills include deep listening practices, mindfulness practices, conversations with the wild, somatic and embodiment skills, and many nature-based practices and games entwined with and built around competencies-based coaching skills. These activities and practices can open powerful new doors for coaches to grow personally, and to be able to engage their clients more effectively and effortlessly in their sessions.

THE EMPOWERMENT RETREAT WITH ROD FRANCIS: ELOHEE, GA. SEPTEMBER 2023

The Empowerment retreat is a 5-day immersive and experiential program running from September 1-5 2023. It’s designed to help participants embody their capacities as coaches and to reconnect with and deepen their abilities for deep listening, powerful conversations and living aligned with their deepest sense of purpose. The retreat offers a unique opportunity to radically deepen one’s learning and development in a supportive community and in an extraordinary wilderness setting.

The program will be led by Rod Francis & the Emergent Coach Training Faculty. The Empowerment Retreat is part of the Emergent Coach Training program and earns participants up to 32 International Coaching Federation (ICF) units.

• Learn to radically grow your capacity as a coach while engaging in powerful inner process work both individually and as a community.

• Deep listening and mindfulness practices to develop greater presence and embody it more fully in your coaching.

• Coaching and conversations with and in the wild which will radically change you and how you coach.

• Practicing with and learning several science-based somatic and embodiment coaching skills.

• Working with many nature-based developmental practices and all of the above are integrated with competencies-based coaching skills.

Plus you’ll still have plenty of time for R&R and community building!

COACHING FOR END OF LIFE - SEPTEMBER 23

Description: Join us for an experiential 1 Hour 45 min session that reveals and supports development in end-of-life conversations. Whether you are a coach, a trusted advisor, or an individual seeking to hold space for another in their end-of-life decision-making, knowing your own capacity and limitations in these conversations is key. How can we empower others to find self-determination in these important decisions without doing our own work? Takeaways include: Identifying what dying well means to you Identifying/Understanding that dying well for me isn’t necessarily dying well for you Increase awareness of triggers that take you away from deep listening in these conversations Be empowered to begin to have potentially difficult end of life conversations Increase awareness acceptance and resilience around your own mortality. A highly experiential ninety-minute webinar for coaches interested in exploring their own relationship to mortality and coaching in end of life conversations.

Description:

Often, coaching in the "end of life" space is a calling.  Sometimes we and our clients find ourselves navigating the complexity of end of life conversations without warning. At other times, End of Life coaching is the intentionally designed  focus of our work. However you are hearing the call when it comes to death and dying, the path of your own development in this important conversation begins with you. Take a deep dive into the relationship you have with your own mortality and end of life to better understand the impact this relationship has on your coaching and end of  life clients. Join us for a real-world look into what it takes to be an End of Life coach.  We will explore the stepping-stones that support working with individuals and their families in the end of life space.
