Spotlight: Dr. Aikyna Finch (copy)
1 - Where are you from, and how did you choose to live in Middle Tennessee?
I am from Nashville. I did l leave for 12 years but I returned in 2015, after traveling for school and my job at the time.
2 - What is your professional background, and why did you become a coach?
My background is in Education, Training and Technology. I became a Certified Coach in 2014, started my practice in 2016 and became ICF Certified in 2018. I became a coach because of my students. The work that I did with them was past being a Dean, it was more in the coaching realm and I wanted to explore this gift and be able to do it for others. Now I coach on Business, Life and Social Media.
3 - How did you choose your specialty area?
So, it started with Life coaching because that covered all aspects and that is what I was doing for my students. Then I added social media coaching by popular demand then business coaching followed. It was a natural progression really but I am passionate about it all.
4 - What are the greatest challenges and greatest rewards of your career?
The greatest challenge would be when people give up on the process. I don’t want anyone to lose hope on their greatness. The greatest reward would be when people receive their breakthrough and their next level. When they trust the process and find their answers that is the greatest reward.
5 - What is something that most ICFTN members would be surprised to learn about you?
I am interested in learning how to Box and run a Marathon.
6 - How do you enjoy spending your free time?
I enjoy writing, singing, podcasting and mentoring others.
